Mmm, i remember seeing fields of those as we would drive from new cutama into which ever city was near (i was too little to remember), for groceries~ we often passed up that hollywood sign on the hill, too hah.

Wow poppies are pretty lol. Never got to see one up close.

That must have been quite a view. I used to live near san jose when i was little and we would drive over an overpass that had some sort of flower farm under it. it was really stunning in the spring. its hard to forget a field of pretty flowers no matter how little you are lol.
They really are a neat little flower. I hope you get the chance to see one up close someday, theyre quite nice^^.

Maybe next time i visit cali~ whenever that would be heh

can't seem to get my CA poppies to grow like wild on my lawn. at least i harvested a ton of seeds from the first ones that did. maybe i really need to wait for the damp seasons to plant them :I

Yeah poppies can be sort of finicky. I tried planing some a few times and sometimes it was successful, others not so much. Its hard to get them established. They seem to be pretty vulnerable to other plants competing for space. Falls the best time to plant them though, they like disturbed soil too and set down roots during the rains. Maybe its time to give it another go:D

fall's almost here and i can't wait to get it started! also, they don't do well when you try and transfer them. it pretty much stresses them out. i'll keep in mind the tip you just gave me. thanks! : P

it'll be the last time i consulted google. one search told me the poppies hate water and likes sandy soil with little to no nutrients.

Yeah, youre probably best off finding a garden forum lol. Ive seen poppies grow in ridiculous places, i think there are just a lot of variables. Those silly beautiful flowers.

I didn't even know they existed until a couple of months ago when I was looking up stuff about a caterpillar I found haha. There's some pretty knowledgeable people out there.

i actually never knew what they were until a few months ago as well, when i was researching on what flowers they are. we bought a mixed wildflower seed pack and those were the only ones that sprouted (among other few).

Oh that's neat, that must have been a really nice suprise, CA poppies are such striking flowers! I've enjoyed them since I was young^^
I really love those flower packs, you never know what you're going to get lol. Though it's a bummer when you get a lot of duds.
