To be clear, "more cowbell" did become an internet meme in its own right. I mean, it has its own wikipedia page for heaven's sake... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/More_cowbell
I'd be interested to hear what ISN'T funny about it, because it seems that even if you take away knowledge of the specific song and the specific comedians (a problem in its own right!), it's still a clip about a producer who feels passionately about something as goofy as cowbell in rock music.
Anyway, as with any pun, explaining it isn't going to make it any more funny, so... no biggie. Glad at least someone got a laugh out of it anyway!
