She drew the line art and I did the coloring.
This came from a joke after a pet store mislabeled their grammastola cala as a grammastola cola.
I chose to give the body a kind of soda can look, and have the abdomen be clear.

Thanks!
I don't get why people sell males to anyone other than hobbyist... unless they are just figuring these people will tire of the pet before it dies (never tiring of Amalthea!).
They are so cute! I was very tempted to get one at the reptile show, they had some real cuties- and a JUMBO Goliath Birdeater. She was HUGE! Her body was easily 4 inches long, maybe more.

I think they were just dumbasses and didn't sex the spider correctly. Tarantulas are pretty much impossible to sex until their final molt. Ha, when I saw "Divina" had tibial spurs and a slender abdomen...haaa... she became "Charlie." :D
Hm, goliaths don't make very good pets. Their urticating hairs are horrible, and they can be super defensive. I personally would never get one, haha... Don't get me wrong, I'm a spider lover, for sure, but goliaths are definitely for people more experienced in T care than I am! :D Same with babboons and cobalt blues. They're arseholes. :D

It is difficult, but I have seen some spiders that are very obviously MALE being sold as FEMALES.
At least Ama came from a store that specialized in arachnids and reptiles, so I'm pretty sure she is she. Bernadette I have no clue, but since the differences in sex in a centipede seem fairly minor and their lifespans are the same, She will be a she unless I find out she is a he...
They are pretty tough to deal with, though I helped out a little bit in caring for a dying Goliath. Poor baby had been through hell, missing 3 legs completely, and part of two other legs. I think that girl was just so done by that point that she didn't see the point in acting defensive and accepted what comfort could be given.
At least Lasiadoras are pretty calm. I have seen a L parahybana act to chill in situations where you would expect any animal to be nervous. I held her and she was just all "oh cool a hand. Hands are cool, I'll sit on your hand."
