This is the soup my mom wont let me leave her house without making, Depending on factors it can be a soup or a stew.
Creamy turkey wild rice soup/stew
Sadly I dont write anything down, or really measure anything, I play it by ear/taste
So you'll need the following ingredients
2-3 Turkey legs (I use 2 big ones)
Carrots
Celery
White onion
Red potatoes
Wild Rice
Chicken bullion
Seasonings
For your white sauce you'll need to actually measure this out (Only part)
2 cupsMilk
1 stick butter
8T Flour
starting out you'll take your turkey legs and boil them, till they're fall off the bone, take the meat out and put into a strainer, remove all the meat, discard bones, return meat to pot. (make sure you get all the bones, turkey meat is crazy full of it)
Chop up your carrots, celery, onion, red potatoes and toss into the pot.
In a separate pot, start to cook about 2 cups of wild rice, make sure you clean it before hand (Just rinse under water till the water is clear) cook until firm, drain and add the wild rice to the mix
let all this cook together for about an hour, on low-medium heat.
add in your chicken bullion, salt, pepper, whatever you wanna doll it up with for taste. I literately just add stuff, taste, add, taste at this point.
In another separate pot, you wanna take your stick of butter, and melt it down, when the butter starts to boil, add in your flour, SLOWLY MIXING IT IN! Then you add your milk, and then you gotta beat the shit outta it, stiring constantly till you make a roue, or gravy consistency. When its thick enough, Pour it into your pot, mixing it in. take off the heat!
Should look as shown.
ENJOY!

OK this is how I make it. I made this for where I used to cook and they loved it. Also it has no Ham in it but will taste like it.
OK I use one pound of Split Pees. Small Crock pot. 6 cups water. One Cube of Butter. little salt and pepper Cook on low over Night.
In morning Stir and taste for Salt and Pepper. Then use a Pinch of nutmeg. Just a pinch. Let cook for about another hour.
That is all I do and everyone likes it.
