While rummaging through my old gallery in "The Round House", I came across another image I'd rendered (over a decade ago), that I hadn't included in my "Fur Affinity" gallery... until now.
Back in 2003, I was looking at a calendar that had all sorts of international holidays, when I saw the Australian occasion known as "Picnic Day" in early August. I'd decided to draw a gigantic picnic basket and a lone occupant to partake in all of the food within said basket... namely,
Oz Kangaroo - even though "Picnic Day" actually takes place in Australia's NorthernTerritory, and 'Oz' (and his creator) resides in the southeastern portion of the continent...
Nevertheless, I enjoyed drawing the massive marsupial (who would enjoy eating sandwich after sandwich, as his 'Ned Kelly' [Aussie slang for 'belly'] would spill over the edge of the picnic basket). At the time, I began by using MS Word to print out the text on a sheet of paper, followed by drawing on it with a light pencil, and then using fine line marker pens to darken the pencil lines (before eventually erasing them), and finally using colored pencils on the character, props, and scenery.
For the "...Redux" version, I'd decided to touch up the colors of Oz's cap, earring, and sandwich, using my computer's Paint.Net program.
If you'd like to see the original version of "Happy Picnic Day" image from my gallery in "The Round House", go to http://roundhouse.wulfnet.net/galle.....icday.jpg.html
And be sure to come back later this month, when I post my annual birthday greeting to Oz Kangaroo... I think that most of you will get a kick out of it! =OQ|
