This is a scene from the novel I'm writing. Ikodo Moonstrife and Mikalu Zanare are out on the fields of Nepterra for some sword practice. Mikalu is the one who mostly wants the practice; Ikodo just always agrees to help him out, even if he isn't always ready for Mikalu's enthusiam in practice. Even though, this story takes place several hundreds years ahead of our time, and technology has gone way beyond the sword, Mikalu has always been fascinated in them ever since he was created on Earth and he remains convinced that knowing how to wield one well will be a usefull skill to have.
