Sanity fragment 3 [concept]
Necroroaders are possessed creatures of the crossroads. They are sometimes sacrificed beings or the shamans themselves consumed by the evil of the crossroads.
They are able to think and communicate as if they were live or near live beings, tricking travelers to thinking they are wounded and attacking them. They are carnivorous creatures and burning them is probably the only way to destroy them. Or atleast dismember the corrupted flesh from the creature to relieve it of evil.
I might tweak this concept later. I wanted to treat them similar to orcs in lord of the rings mixed with necromorphs. Might need to fester on it a bit.

Well there is a real way to cleanse them. Like let's say someone was corrupted at the arm with the corruption, they can use medicine, which has easier access to in the inner states. While in the scrap lands they choose to burn the skin off or amputate it. It's a slow decaying and painful sort of disease and once it reaches an artery or spinal cord, it won't be long until the host perishes or becomes disillusioned.
However if someone is fighting a reanimated necroroader, you can cleanse the corpse but it won't live the former life the original host had once had. The corpse will be brain dead and quickly perish after the cleansing.
