I'm not sure what sparked this one. I guess more experiment in a slightly more cartoon style but I'm not sure how well that succeeded. I pondered coloring it, but felt it looked good enough as it was with colors having the potential to spoil it if not done properly.

I was now going to ask about the pistol when I saw your keywords.
My own take on this illustration is that he's a time traveler from the future who's stranded in medieval times and he has to prove himself to a king by slaying the dragon/beast. Having never taken on such a creature in his OWN time, he's obviously scared for his life and rather use the weapon given to him i.e. the Claymore Medieval Sword, he falls back on his trusty six (6) shot colt pistol.
Although, me thinks that soon enough he'll realize that his colt pistol does nothing to the dragon/beast, except for making it angrier, and that he'll need to use the Claymore Medieval Sword in order to kill it.
