... and, where there are villains, there have to be heros as well, right?
My little backstory for this fantastic version of WWII is that the Soviets have some sort of super-soldier serum, and their troops are capable of incredible feats in combat - like wielding dual captured MP40s, or demolishing fascist tanks using a bloody great hammer.

For some mad, mad reason, the lower pose brings Aeon Flux to mind, though of course this heroine is a properly healthy and well-fed member of the Worker's Paradise. Why she has chosen the lowly and no-doubt shoddily made Erma-Werke/Schmeisser over the glorious and robust People's pepeshka (PPSh) is a matter that some well-meaning Commissar may need to chide her about. Her companion looks suitably beefy. I like where you seem to be going with this.
What I've heard - I've seen only a few photographs which bear it out - is that Soviets, especially scouts, would grab up MP40s where they could.
I'm not entirely sure why you'd want to grab up two fairly nice quality weapons when all you're going to be doing with them is emptying them John-Woo-style. But hey, I thought it looked cool.

Well during most of '39-42, there weren't many Soviet infantry who were 'well equipped', so if you tripped over a loaded weapon that you knew how to use, *SCROUNGE*. Noone had enough ammunition except maybe in specialist teams. The Schmeisser/Erma-Werke MP40s were FAR higher quality and more accurate than the clunky PPSh.
I was more just teasing about the propaganda issue. 'Comrade, are you suggesting that the weapons Comrade Stalin has approved for your issue are in some way DEFICIENT compared to that Hitlerite crap?!'
It's visual art. 'Looked cool' is the ONLY excuse it ever truly needs. :) Ignore my wibbling.

Christ, reminds me of this amazing comic idea and a friend of mine and I put together for a super-friends style comic, but it was the heroes of communism, fighting the enemies of communism, like Hitler, Ford, the Eternal Jew and Uncle Sam. They all had super powers based off of their mythology and situations, and they were guided by the ghost of Marx, summoned from the original copy of the Communist Manifesto.
I feel it's important all of my ideas offend large numbers of people, naturally.

I was more thinking about;
