Moss from the trunk of a tree rises up from the floor as the sun's light disappears from the horizon. With the light of the first star, the sprite's heart beats into life. The sprite rushes high into the air, arms stretched wide in the joy of flight. Flying over the tree tops, the sprite sights a pond in the distant.
The sprite lands softly on a rock sprouting out of the pond. As it's feet touched the rock, moss grew from its feet to cover the rock. To the sprites amazement, more sprites began landing around the pond: wood, water, air, grass, flower, and ground. Across the pond the moss sprite saw the water sprite walk slowly towards it. The moss sprite became bashful and nervous for this water sprite was so beautiful. As the pond sprite got closer, dew started forming on the moss sprite. Soon the water sprite reached the edge of the water before turning to mist and floating to the top of rock. The two sprites stared into each others eyes as fireflies floated above them. The two slowly stepped towards each other, their hands touch, their eyes reconnect and then, in the cool night air, they kissed. Neither understood why the felt so connected; maybe it was the nature of living only one night.
The sun began to rise on the other side of the forest, the light reaches over to them. The sprites never let go of each other as they both turned back into their forms before they were giving life. The rock they met on was now covered in dew glistening moss. The two lovers forever connected in their primitive life as they were in their short mystic life.
