Beautiful!! The wings look magnificent; Ireally like that you can see the depth of the wing, and where the (bone?) folds, and where the skin stretched :3
I love the harness, it's so elegant, and the paws are amazing; I really like how realistic the claws look. I really like that the picture's lighter, you can see the dragon better :3
I love his eyes, they still have that captivating sense, and I love the ears..They're just so..cute xD
I also like that you added blue into the paint flickers :3

Oh, wow, Sparky! Big change from the rough draft.
Heh, just noticed the snapped (torn? bitten through?) bridle rope. That can't be good!
Still has the feel of an illustration for a children's novel, which I really like, especially the changes to the boy (or girl).
Not to detract from the awesomeness of this one, but I have to say I really did like the darkness of the original. It made me think of H.P. Lovecraft, and it kinda had an underwater feel, I think.
Also, I think you did great keeping the snowfall aligned with the direction of implied movement of the figures--little details like that really sell it.
I'd give it an A++. Hope it wows your class!
