I Like to Live Dangerously
Is this the canine equivalent of leaning against a wall having a cigarette?

My dog got into an unopened box of macaroons one day... there were none left by the time we found her. She suffered no ill effects. In fact she's pretty much been getting into chocolate her whole life and she doesn't seem to care, she's still pretty darn healthy for her age.
Personally I've always preferred 'cheaper' chocolates. I've had good quality stuff and I find it a bit too rich for me. I also like my chocolate cut with something, on it's own it's kinda boring.
This shit right here is some of the tastiest chocolate I've ever had.

A bit more immediate that a cigarette if I remember the reactions correctly. Canines have a fair direct reaction to chocolate while cigarettes take a while to have an effect (though the nasty smell lingers a good while). I could see him having some brands where a human would have a tatoo as part of his badassery. Still wouldn't make him a cainine Chuck Norris, though.
If that's from the candy aisle, then it's relatively safe. The sugar content will get to him before the meager chocolate content will do anything.
My favorite means of doing chocolate: use squares of baking chocolate (going straight for the hard stuff! ) to scoop ricotta cheese, a bit like chips and dip.
*rumble*
Wait... that wasn't thunder.

Cute!
However I can't help but think that when the day rolls around that science has again made nature its bitch and the first uplifited canine is pulled out of it's gestation vat the whole "theobromine toxicity" thing will have probably already been hammered out in the beta phase.

I must say I didn't catch the joke immediately. At first I thought it was just about the badass pose he was in then I realized (after a day) that the chocolate was poisonous to him.
Guess I've just been around furries too long haha!
But uh, I'll just leave this here.
