Back during my Earthbound craze, I decided to doodle up all of the Starmen from Mother/Earthbound games, and gave them a bit of a redesign-their bodies are somewhat transparent, revealing more mechanical looking body underneath the shell, the badges are now input panels/status monitors, and their arms and legs are pretty much tentacle-like, to emphasize their connection to Gyigas who has similar limbs. As for Ghost of Starman, I figured that the best way to depict a “ghost” of a robot would be a holographic projection, hence the scanline and blur effect.
