More action pose practice! This time instead of trying to find reference to match the mental image I had, I looked for references first and just used whatever pose looked the most interesting to me. It worked out really well! It was a lot easier than trying to find a reference specific to the pose I had in mind.
These have been good practice so far. I've been learning something new each time I've done one. =) I think I may do another sword-based one with my Redwall character, and then switch to a new character and action.

Do like, though the proportions seem to be a bit off on this one, and the perspective seems like it's doing something wonky to the back leg. I know it's supposed to look like it's bent, it just that the angles make it look more like it's shorter than the other. Keep up the practice, I'm liking seeing what you've got. Also, Redwall ftw, and R.I.P. Brian Jacques.
I do see what you mean with the leg. If I had to guess, it's because there's no shadow showing what angle the ground plane is at. x)
Here is the reference I used if you're curious! http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2050.....24a00eaab0.jpg You can see how the same leg looks kind of squished there too.
