Last night I picked up some plastic xmas ornament balls from Michaels' and cut them down to make eye lenses. Still too big, but we'll see how obvious the inappropriate diameter is. Cut down they fit, of course, they just imply that one has Power Puff Girls sized eyeballs hiding in one's head.

I may back off on the neanderthal brow ridge. (one is seeing the eyes through it in this image, since it's transparent) Hmm. On the bright side that's just a matter of moving some screws around and trimming.

The ears were more of a pain than I'd thought, but I think I'm pretty happy with the result. I made a LOT of paper dummies while trying to get the radar-scoop-with-a-point shape of a hyena ear. The edge of the hockey mask seems about right for location.
