Diplodocus means "double beam," and to dispel the debate, it's pronounced "dĭ-plŏd'ə-kəs." Or in easier terms, "dih-PLAHD-oh-kuss." It lived in North America during the late Jurassic. It was about 100 feet long, weighing 25-50 tons, and was a prototypical sauropod.
