I figured the grayscale would help really force perspective, but I think I needed to play with lines better to get what I wanted. Ah, well, I learn from making mistakes, right?
The idea is a ranger turned vampire, and now more bestial than his dire wolf allies.

Oh dude! If so I don't remember; I've read through the new Ravenloft book, but I don't own it or remember any of it in detail. So that might very well be something that shows up, in which case cool beans. I freaking love kukris. Anything that poorly balanced and capable of lopping someone's arm off should do a lot more than some wussy 1d4 damage, so I figure it's basically a saber.
The perspective kind of reminds me of old "3D" effects in books and TV shows....
I like how the adventurers seem to have no idea he's there. just carrying on with their business; also that he's so scruffy. It never made sense to me that creatures who cannot see their reflections should be so pristine and well-kept as they usually are.

Really good hide/sneak rolls, and he's a bit back from the road.
I figure the stereotypical elegant undead makes sense - these were people who cared about their appearance in life, and their sustained undead existence depends on them being able to pull off suave and elegant. This guy though, doesn't really care. He doesn't get blood meals by cajoling or seducing his prey, he just grabs them and tears out their throats. I figure he's sort of a Wolverine type, all snarly human beast who makes the dire wolves look clean and mild-mannered.
