I'm atheist-agnostic (though almost definitely atheist), but sometimes it's an interesting thing to think about. XD
I've also considered making a religious character (both to help me understand them more and also to balance out my characters), but I'm not sure how well thy will work out.

i would say i'm an atheist but i dont really mention it, people are people no matter what they choose to believe
i guess i have my own little religion made up from life experiences, i dont think there is a greater being like a god, but i do think there might be something after death, and i 100% believe in aliens, i mean we cant be the only planet in the universe to sustain life
and i dont have a religious character simply because i dont know about religion, i might accidentally offend someone

I know some people well enough that I could ask them about details if I wasn't sure. -shrugs-
And even then it wouldn't be too big of a thing; it would just be like "oh this character is of x religion" but it would only be a small part of the character.
I sometimes believe in aliens, sometimes not. XD While it is possible, I guess somehow we had the PERFECT conditions, and it can be hard to recreate. Still, the universe is HUGE. I agree with the statement that it's silly to assume there is no other life (even if it's only bacteria or something completely unlike humans it still counts)!
