I'm trying to create some characters these days taht are easy and fast to draw so that i can use them in some test comic scenes and see how they work... It's kinda hard... I have all the characters, but i can't draw them all... Like, i have a fox character, but i've never drawn foxed before so that's kinda hard for me to do... I know how to draw felines and that's pretty much all i know how to draw so far:p

Hehe, you're the opposite to me. I can't draw felines at all, but I'm better at canines. It's strange, since I've never had a dog, but I've got a cat.

Well, the only way to get your fox character on paper is to draw him! Give it a try!

Honestly, my style isn't even close to what i hoped it would become... I dunno what happened, but my style just developed differently than i thought it would... I don't dislike how i draw, it's not that bad really. But it doesn't fit into my original cartoon idea that i've had in my head for a decade:s So i have to come up with a new idea and change the personality for all my characters...

So i figured since i'm forced to do such drastic changes, i might as well try to draw differently as well:p (That's why you can only see a whole bunch of sketches on my page. I'm trying to change the way i draw but it's not really helping that much:p)

*sigh* Trying to find your 'style' is a painful process. I personally believe I've finally found mine. Not too long ago I was drawing in a style that just didn't work for me, in hundreds of ways.
Actually, what you're describing sounds pretty familiar.
Just keep playing around with your style. Have fun with it til you're happy!

It just makes me wonder... how do we do it? Do I do a page, and you do one? Or do we take turns in drawing each panel, or what?

I have no idea really... I think it's more about making the rough sketch and sharing that until we get it to look and sound great, and then we draw it and post it^^,

I can work on my characters while you do your things first, so there is a lot of time for it all... Tell you what, i'll work on something over the next few days, and i'll show it to you so you can tell me what you think. You might have some good ideas to put in them too^^,

In the beginning btw, as in, for the first strip, assuming we don't go further than that, maybe you could draw the canines and i'll do the kitties?:)

And for the record, it's not like there is any rush with a collaborative strip. We post that when we're done with it wether it takes a week, a month, or a year... I have things to do on the side too you know:p Like a badger i have to draw and a certain lioness... (not my lioness).

Oh, the comic can be about anything you like really. :)

Well, i was thinking something very simple to start with. You know, to get the feel for things. There is a lot to learn regarding layout and stuff like that.

We should try something really short at first just to see if the characters work. No point in starting a big story and suddenly find out that the characters are all wrong for the part:s (I did that once:p) Short gags should do the trick at first, or, if we're daring, a full page:) No big stories to begin with until we have the right characters to use. Besides, we'd need a story anyway and i don't have any worked out yet...

Another possibility is to use the sitcom thing. Where each strip is a day in their life. No bigger story, just something new for every strip...

Naturally, we'll use our respective characters(I assume yours will be a fox, which means mine will be a lion). Other than my character, i have a tiger character i like using.

For the record, my characters include a lion, a tiger, a fox and a ferret:p I also have a few bears that sometimes appear in my drawings. The bears belong to the guy who tought me to draw in the first place:) I like the idea of having them guest-star in my own work at a later time, but they won't ever get a permanent spot in the things i do(i'm not even allowed to do that anyway since they're copyrighted)...

The story i have in my head(which we won't use for this project), revolves around the lion and the tiger. They will eventually end up being together, as in, boyfriends... The settings for my planned cartoon takes place in an alternate future based on the timeline we're on right now. The world has ended and the surviving people(or anthros in my case), are trying to locate eachother so they won't be alone anymore. Most of them know that there is strenght in numbers and that starting a commuinty is the best way to go at things. And that's pretty much how the story goes... It will be a mix of longer stories and short stories^^, It all depends on how much i'd like to draw when i get started:p

This is kinda why your character here was so eyecatching to me, cos he's got the right looks for being in that cartoon of mine:p Maybe you can guest-star in it from time to time^^,
