ARIGHT so heres the low down on these adopts
rules:
- Do not resell, this is a closed species. Don't sell offspring of the Botaniak either, for that matter. I'm pretty sure selling babies, even if they're alien, is illegal.
- Do not design your own Botaniaks to sell, they're a closed species.
- Only buy if you KNOW you'll keep it, there are no refunds if you do not wish to keep it anymore. I WILL, however, draw you something of your choice(no NSFW) if you want to send it back down the road.
- You can change anything about the design once you buy it, Botaniaks can change their look easily. Just keep the basic Botaniak vibe intact.
I don't want to sell any of these for less than 9 bucks(CAD). I MIGHT make an exception and trade for art, but I'm picky.
If someone pays more than 19 CAD for one, I'll throw in a coloured, shaded, lighted, full body sketch like the ones seen above (they're huge because I draw them at 50% zoom). Each 5 bucks added to the price after that will get another coloured sketch added. (no nsfw)
LIST:
1. Bought by wahaneta
2. Bought by cinnabutt on DA
3. Trade with cinnabutt
SPECIES INFO(OR) a jumbled mass of text about the species:
Botaniaks are aliens that were created by a long extinct race, and they are best described as organic, sentient robots. They produce and control a large body of cells, held together by electrical sygnal commands that travel from the head, through the joints and out to the cells. Their bodies are covered in a membrane as well to prevent leaking. The membrane is about a finger's width thick. They produce small vibrations to make a wide range of sound, but communicate with other members of their species through connecting their appendages together and sending brain signals back and forth.
Their original purpose was to fight in wars, as they are extremely hard to destroy. The first generation of Botaniaks had either round or egg shaped heads, as that was the shape made in the production facilities. They can asexually reproduce by creating the head of an offspring inside their bodies, much the same way that they make their joints(everything that isn't the main head). The offspring head comes out ready to begin cell production as it makes it's own body.
Botaniaks created by other members of the species are often more exotic looking(such as these three) than the original factory made generation, as the parent chooses what the head looks like.
Botaniaks are a peaceful race unless provoked, and get their english name from the cities often being filled with plants that bear fruit because the species eats only fruits and other plant life. They quickly overpopulated their home planet, however, and constantly seek new planets to colonise. They gained several barren planets and built utopian cities, and began to prosper once more as a trading empire, selling many fruits, plants, herbs and spices to other empires in exchange for building materials, water and more.
Single, or small groups of Botaniak often find themselves in need of finding a less populated planet to call home, or some just simply get lost in space from whatever freak accident, either way, sleeping Botaniak heads have turned up in many far corners of the milky way, as they can survive in space for many many years, frozen and dormant. Sometimes, if they're lucky, they'll survive landing(perhaps within asteroids) on habitable planets with plant life to feed on and a warm enough climate, and they will slowly wake up and begin to reconstruct their bodies. As they are a very ancient species, they can turn up, for example, on Earth, during many different time periods.
Some may loose important parts of their memory when they're frozen for a long time. They also often make their shape more like the life inhabiting the planet they're on, such as the first generation Botaniak, Migo, who landed on earth after many thousands of years of sleep, with a completely wiped out memory.
None have ever returned to the home planets after being lost in space.
