Sometimes, when I'm trying to get over an anxiety-induced art block, I do fan art head sketches. It not only calms me down, but it's also a great way to improve both my overall skill and specifically, my ability to depict expressions. Overall, I'm really happy with these; they really aren't bad for free-hand, first-time character sketches. :P the only reason the originals are red-tinged is because I'm having printer problems.

And I even learned a lesson, on the middle sketch, about drawing hair.
When a character has a center part, like Saki here, draw the bangs around the part, first. Otherwise the bangs end up subtly off proportion. Saki Bunny Boy is (C) and is used with her permission. For those not familiar with her early work, Saki was part of a slew of cute boys she created, back around 2005.
