My gryfons live in my own fantasy version of an Icelandic landscape. Shard, the main character, takes a lookout post for the first quarter of the morning.

An just another day in the Arctic circle, I think the Icelandic wilderness make a nice place for creatures such as these, as it would seem. The colors they bear do as well reflect the landscape in such as to match the colors of the snow, and the dark of the basalts black rock formed over the eons of lava resurfacing, well done.
