I found this when I was searching through my school-work and decided to let you read and let me know what you think of my poetry.

For What Reason


For what reason do people cry,
For what reason do people die.
When others are happy and others are gay,
Shouldn’t there be some other way?

While day after day, with dead on the rise,
Is it truly such a surprise?
With fighting in the west and war in the east,
Others at home will release the beast.

Becoming a friend is a way to stop,
The infestation of a dying crop.
But many think of only themselves,
Instead of filling the empty shelves.

And when we grow up we learn to hate,
Apparently this is just our fate.
We learn to kill and we learn to fight,
In all the world’s unholy light.

Many learn to take and steal,
Just to gain an extra meal.
While the rich sit around and do nothing at all,
And let the lower class people take the fall.

And fighting and killing and hatred around,
While many against it don’t make a sound.
And we wonder for what reason do people cry,
And we wonder for what reason do people die.
