Anthous was commissioned by  AliceFelidae after the fantastic  TheBeesKnees designed the character for her.

It was funny, when I first saw the design by Bees (here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/11067294/) I remember thinking how much I wanted to make it real ;v; Then lo and behold I get an email from Alice! Too cool. I love commissions like that :D

On the reference sheet it says: "Anthous is a small plant spirit who looks after the blooming and polination of the star shaped flowers of spring and summer. If you keep such flowers in your bedroom, he will visit you in your dreams."

The trickiest part of this commission was getting the dripping nectar whiskers right and the fleshy leafy petal ears posable. They rotate back and forth and up and down thanks to a ball-and-socket rig. The entire body has wire running through it so it can be gentle repositioned, and his face and paws are polymer clay painted with acrylics.
