Yeah I figure .40 would help me work up to the .45s, since i was raised on 9mm Glock.

If you get the right pistol, .45 isn't bad at all. It's mostly the 1911 models that have a harsh kick. I shot a .45 Springfield XD and it wasn't bad at all. Later I shot a 1911 for the first time and it was completely different. Just keep in mind every firearm is different and if you have any friends who have different kinds, see if they'll let you shoot them.

just got back from the range. Fired 7.62 rounds from a rifle described as "like an ak with ar style" I will be taking scans of the targets to post later.
