Indeed. The biggest trip for me is those artists who get commissioned to draw the artist's own characters. Particularly the character by itself and not interacting with anyone else. Like: "I really just want to see ZigZag in this one pose so I am going to pay Max Blackrabbit to draw her that way at his full price for his character doing that pose." To use an example of someone well known.
I saw one - It was some generic, poorly articulated transformer with the claim that it turned into a Jeep, and a list of what you could and could not do with the character after you 'bought' it and the statement at it was an 'Original' character - Apart from y'know being based on Hasbro's IP, and being an unlicensed merchandise.
