Oh man, I just watched this movie a couple of weeks ago. Very strange, totally not what I expected going in. But, it was entertaining nontheless.
I was unfortunate enough to be eating my dinner during the mendel/corpses dream... blurgh

Just like Watership Down it's one of those movies that totally scarred my generation because parents thought they were kids movies. Ah-ha-ha. It's a very surprising movie and this is likely one of the reasons why I love it so much.

Yeah the movie is surprisingly gory for an animation. I'd actually forgotten just how nasty the scenes near the end were when I watched it again today. I do feel for you though... it's not the most pleasant material to be eating your dinner too.
