There is, quite simply, nothing more fun than playing in a ball pool. This scene is modelled on the Panda's Palace in Skegness, England, where I spent many happy hours playing until I got too big to be allowed in.

For children, ball pits are sources of playtime and merriment.
For me, it serves the purpose of disposing semi-used hypodermic needles and syringes, which playing children impale themselves on, thus causing me to explode in my pants with happiness.

But yeah...even though the rumor of all that stuff is false, it wouldn't surprise me at all to find fecal matter, urine, vomit, food, toys...maybe even a body! It's just like humans to soil things that aren't theirs.

I always loved the ball pit
my favorite thing to do was to just search on the bottem for droped items like the trinkets from the prize area or just hide there and stuff, I once found a token holder that was pretty full.
(though it dose sound like an extra treat was laying at the bottem of one place)
