Well I spent a while designing layouts for background etc, so non illustrated stuff for a while, but I've only been illustrating/practicing my drawing for just under 5 months ^-^ I'm not very good at the moment, and I've got sooo much catching up to do cx Also, you give me a pen and paper, and you can just watch me fail xD haha i can only draw with a tablet x) hehe
Good:
-general bird anatomy. Yaaaay so many people draw birds all messed up :(
-good understanding of how wings work. This is really good to know!
-nice colours and distinct style is developing.
Work on:
-kingfisher anatomy is off. Kingfishers have flat heads, comparatively large bodies, tiny feet comprising mainly of toes and a tiny tail. Your bird looks more like a colorful crow.
-general wing shape is good but learn how feathers work. Primaries, secondaries ect. With your current pic what you can do is draw a sketch kver the wings and sketch then out, then with the level of detail steps add the shading necessary to make them pop out.
I see potential, keep trying :)
