Look who turned up at Eurofurence this year!

Destiny, Nelson, Marion, Vince, Kali, and a couple of rats from the ( sadly cancelled ) BBC show 'Mongrels'.

Two of the puppeteers were the GOHs at the con and they brought all the puppets along with them. It was fantastic to see them for real.

Oh no, you're ruining the magic! Did they do a show at EF? That would most certainly have been worth seeing! I wonder if anyone videoed it and will be uploading to YouTube or similar?

No show, just a demonstration of puppetry and a couple of talks on the making of the show.

Yes, he did ruin the magic, but then again these are not the real Mongrels--these are just puppets OF the real Mongrels we saw in the series. Also, Nelson's spice rack should have been there.

I LOVED Mongrels I was so annoyed that it was cancelled, the puppets look awesome and are a brill idea for a furry con!

Those are not The Mongrels--those are puppets *of* The Mongrels. Nelson does not have sticks coming out of his paws. Also, Vince has feet. That's been demonstrated. This picture is merely a distraction.

Now I know Destiny was a puppet as well - I wasn't sure if she was someone in a suit or not as she looked bigger than the other ones.

She doesn't work with arm poles like the others - she was designed so someone could put their hands into hers like gloves. That's why she's a bit bigger than the others.

I loved this show. It's a pity it only lasted 2 seasons. It would have been nice to see if Nelson and Destiny get together

Damn, only discovered this show a couple days ago and I’m honestly surprised at how big Destiny actually is. I read on the wiki page that she was the biggest puppet out of the bunch but jeez!

Yeah, she seemed pretty huge in person. It was great to see the puppets for real - there were some pretty good panels at that con.
