Just extend the ceiling, it's the same as the floor and so you can better appreciate the spikes.
Any other ideas for boss rooms? Metal Man could always be nice.

Basically I make a cube, like the purple and green ones in the pic.
Then I build all of the tiles in 3D off of that cube.
Cylindrical things are a little tricky but not too bad.
It's things like the curves on the platform on the right that can be hard. It's like carving the shape out of that cube I made.

Until today (which is when I learned how to do it) I always used the fill tool for most personal pic editing. I always gave up after a few days of clicking on the single pixels to fill them and not anything else. Now I've almost finished a skin texture in almost a day. I wonder what I might have made if I knew that a few years ago.
