Sherman Shumway character concept

yes, I'm finally done with this!
so I got the idea for this character that in the ALF cartoon series they mention the gordon shumway had famous great grandfather that was lead commander of the orbit guard and thought he would an interesting character too put in my ALF fanfic. he appears briefly in my story, but he does have an important role, but won't say what that is as it would spoil the story.
I made his outfit sort of mix of medieval and futuristic because since melmacians have such long lifespans, he lived probably over a thousand years ago, so the probably wore different outfits back then.

I forget the name but I read a book called " The Last Days On Krypton" where it recounts the events that took place prior to the planets destruction. could the producers of Alf got their idea from the Superman mythos , the immigrant from the stars.

like Akira Toriyama based Goku backstory of his Saiyan race off of Kryton Destruction. The Spartan in space. Surely Melmacian are warriors as well as scientist, artist , politians.

yeah, there was mention of ALF being part of the orbit guard which I'm guessing was sort of the military for their planet.

yes I read the info. orbit guard. like the coast guards but in space.

and space being an empty vacumm of dark matter is similar to the ocean. there could be some dangerous vacumm eater out there.

yeah, you got a good point there, even space itself is deadly.

there is no oxygen in space and you would burn up as you enter the earths atmosphere without any protection be it magical or technological
