Short version of DA comment: Bli!gira do not have an excited name, that ! is actually a clicking noise. Due to it being hard to pronounce they don't mind being just called "Bligira". Bli!gira took a long time to design because they kept looking like other aliens from other series. On that note they're kinda reverse Asari where I wanted a female only alien species that didn't look like a hot human woman.
The reason they're all female wasn't due to some matriarchy takeover but because they literally got too big to sex after a while so they just evolved passed needing males. Sometimes males are still born but they're treated just like they would a female that couldn't have babies.
