I went to the Body Worlds exhibit here in Germany today. Seeing so much of the human body was simply breathtaking (I expected the smell to be breathtaking but it wasn't bad at all!).
It was fascinating to see all the tiny details and the complexity.
But there was something else that inspired me, the imperfections of our body.
People who argue in favor of something like intelligent design, the idea that we were created by an omnipotent and omniscient force instead of coming to be through change over time, have probably never seen a knee that was badly damaged by arthrosis, a liver that has been destroyed by cancer or cirrhotic kidneys. They have never seen how cruel nature can be. It is easy to see the positive parts of life, but seeing the how cruel it can be is truly eye-opening.

Do you personally believe in evolution or intelligent design?
Either way, I don't see why an "intelligent agent" would make our body som imperfect and fragile.
The exhibit also showed how similar all mammals really are because they also showed plastinates of animals. Evolution isn't just about change afterall, it is also about common descent.
