Shi'ran and Taala ... Go Shopping!
So, finally, I'm uploading this for myself. Something that was drawn for me a while ago that came about as a result of a funny conversation regarding my fursona's line of work.
"Since he's a mercenary and he can be paid to do anything, wouldn't it be funny if Taala paid him to help her shop at the mall?"
So, this is the result - drawn by
taala . My fursona, completely out of his comfort zone, reduced to helping the fae-dragon decide whether pink or purple is better and to carry her baggage. Tail included xD - may as well make use of it. Taala wanted to experiment with different colouring styles, and went for a watercolour effect ... maybe like someone caught sight of the pair out in the streets and painted it onto a canvas. It's cool. ^_^
Oh, and Taala paid him - by buying him some silly clothes as a reward for helping out and making him look like a 2000's skater-kid. Poor guy. x3

Below is my own take on how this unfolded, you can skip it if you want. :]
"So ... most people that know me know by now that I'm a mercenary. A jack-of-all-trades sort of guy, an everyman ... someone that'll do pretty much anything provided the pay is good enough, no questions asked.
One day, this strange little fae-dragon named Taala runs up to me at the hotel and begs me for assistance. Well, we sort of already knew one another by then but I guess she hadn't heard before that I was a mercenary and apparently she had a huge problem that she couldn't deal with by herself, and she really needed my services in order to see it through.
She made it sound so dangerous and life-threatening, and when I asked her what the problem was she told me she'd tell me only if I agreed to her terms. She wanted me to stay with her for a whole day ... it sounded like she needed me as a bodyguard, like somebody was trying to stalk and kill her. I wanted to know what was going on but, like I said before, 'no questions asked.' She promised me that she'd totally make it worth my while to help her out.
I agreed.
She told me to meet with her outside the city park the next morning and was gone before I knew it ... I didn't have much choice but to keep to my word - after all, I was being paid to do whatever she wanted ... even though I didn't know what situation she was in that warranted my help. A stalker? A wizard had cursed her home? Giant sandwich beasts? Only when I met with her the next morning would she excitedly tell me what it was she needed my help for.
... Shopping.
...
... She wanted my help shopping around the city mall. She figured she might need a second opinion on what clothes to buy, or an extra pair of arms to help carry things she wanted.
I ... I just-... I've seen everything. I've scraped through battlefields, slinked through enemy holds, took the lives of countless men in the name of my code. But this ... this was one battleground that I genuinely believed I would not survive. But, I had to endure. I had given Taala my word - as a mercenary, and as a friend.
... I had to help her shop."
