Here is a wonderful effect of a long shutter I was not expecting to capture. The lights on this Ferris Wheel had a computer controlled pattern when the wheel is spinning. I caught a number of these patterns using a long exposure that would otherwise be flashing too fast for the human eye to process in this way. The end result was pretty damn cool.

Wow, cool shot. Love that it still has a bit of segmentation between the spokes -- enough that you can also see the spiraling pattern of the light colors. Very cool. Might be a bit stronger if it was perfectly symmetrical (i.e. taken right on the center point of the ferris wheel, but I don't know the layout of the fairgrounds, so I can't really speak to that. The crop helps with the symmetry though, so it's only a minor nitpick. Great work. :)
What's interesting is how the lights that were captured form perfect curves from the center to the outer edge of the wheel, and in truth the un-captured regions simply shouldn't exist. If you tried to fill in the blank regions the curves wouldn't line up, but if you were to drag two captured sections together they would.
