This is my compy. The power supply is the black box in the upper left with the rats-nest of power cables coming out of it. They're all braided with a kind of snake skin, so it's easy to pick them out. I'm not even using most of them here. Also, some cables have daisy-chain plugs, so, one cable can go to two or three devices.
The flat gray or orange cables are for data.
The gray box on the middle right is holding a disk drive. It has a power cable and ribbon cable plugged in.
The round gray cables go to the front case USB ports.
The skinny little wires are for cooling fans.
My video card is the red one on the left and is plugged into a PCI-E slot. It's low-end and doesn't even need a power cable.

Ribbon cables? I thought those had gone extinct by now! Kidding ;)
Let's see... looks like 2 CD drives (but not sure), 1 hard drive, a separate video card (can't tell which kind), and... wow! That's a pretty beefy power supply for a setup this basic. Are you planning on adding/upgrading anything?

Ha ha. You've got a good eye, Mr. Raccoon. This is an old picture when I was first building my graphic work station. That's an IDE hard drive, a SATA DVD drive and a 3.5 inch floppy drive. I've since loaded the drive cage with big SATA drives, but still have the floppy. It was good for early testing, but now, I just have no reason to remove it.
The video is an old Radeon 4350 that doesn't need any special cooling. I'm not a big gamer and it still drives my 2560 x 1440 monitor just fine for 3D modeling.
