heh, I know I've done that on occasion myself. Turned out nice! Is his mouth supposed to be emitting light, though? From the forked tongue I could extrapolate to dragon of some sort, but with the light being white in tone my mind inserted a flashlight in his throat. Amusing mental image, but I thought I'd ask. Lovely rendering, in any case :3
What program you using? In photoshop, it'd be easy enough to shift the colouring a little: make a yellow or orangey shape on a new layer over the glow area, and set blend mode to "Color". From the brush strokes though, either the new brushes from ps 5/6 are really different, or it's more like Corel or ArtRage. Not really familiar with either of those, unfortunately.

I use painttool Sai :P I actually save all my files in Sai and then transfer them to photoshop to do final edits/cropping/sharpening. In sai I did the glow as a luminosity layer that made the glow a sort of reddish, but photoshop translated that into white. . . I could save a jpg straight from Sai I guess but I'm not particularly bothered by the white.
