<w< And STILL a better cosplay story than Heroes Of Cosplay.
Seriously, I only watch that show for the costumes and for Holly and Jessica of "Crabcat Productions." Everything else about that show can kiss my sword-swinging, spell-slinging, treasure-acquiring, monster-slaying, movie-riffing ASS.

For one thing, no professional fursuiter, costumer or prop-maker I know gives a rat's ass about accolades and pats on the back from convention costume-contests. No production-company or movie-studio I know of gives a rat's ass about accolades and pats on the back from convention costume-contests. In fact, most costume-contests I've ever seen or participated in DON'T EVEN OFFER CASH PRIZES. Last contest I entered was in 2005- I got an honorable mention and an anime DVD. The big winners just got more swag than I did. And you know something" I was happy... I was among friends, I had fun in my Red Mage getup, it was all gravy on the grease-wagon.
All this "professional cosplayer" claptrap? Very few ladies do this sort of thing professionally, and the ones that do have that rare combination of looks and business-savvy to turn themselves into a marketable commodity- which is all well and good, but don't for one second try to hoodwink me into thinking that THIS IS THE BE-ALL, END-ALL OF COSPLAY. At the end of the day, cosplay is about having fun and honoring our favorite licensed characters by dressing and acting like them for a weekend at a convention, among bevies of fellow nerds who came to let their hair down and their freak-flag fly.
Jessica Nigiri and Yaya Han may be model-gorgeous and meticulous in their cosplay-craft, but if Yaya is an "Ambassador Of Cosplay," then I'm the Eleventh Doctor. And I'm not.
