I finally was able to get photos of this mask being worn, so I could finally post a listing up on Etsy for it. My friends had a bunch of fun posing with this one. As far as I know none of my friends are furries, but certain of them tend to meow and scratch each others' heads nonetheless, so this naturally happened.
The stripes of this tiger are formed by tiny little flames that are blowing around the surface of the tiger's face. Inspired by a poem of William Blake, if you couldn't guess.

The design of the mask I drew out by hand. I then scanned it into the computer and converted it to vectors, which I then fed into a computer-controlled laser cutter to cut out the leather very accurately. I then stained it, sewed the ears and snout into place, wet-formed it and sealed it up all by hand.

I'm not really creeped out by fursuits, but I do get kind of sad about how standardized they are. I feel like there are more interesting ways to costume than fuzzy bodysuit plus foam head, but the fandom seems weirdly obsessed with that paradigm.
Anyway, I'm glad you like my stuff! I hope other people also start making interesting non-fursuit costumes.
