To each their own really and I see what you mean. I don't like having my time wasted in general and like yourself when people try and grab my attention I hate that too. So I can definitely relate with you on more than one level.
Role play is something I do not just for fun but also to practice my writing skills so that's another reason I prefer to role play in details. But I definitely do not try role play with someone who doesn't like it like, for example, yourself. Besides I ask first rather than assuming. That goes with anything. I can't stand it when people just assume shit.
