A little something I drew up for myself, been having a really shitty day. I apologize for not working on comms, just didn't have it in me.
I've always loved Gabumon, ever since way back when, when season 1 first aired in America. Dunno what it is about him, maybe the fact that he's a bit on the tubby side (though he seems to have let himself go in this piece). The fact that he's a reptile doesn't bother me at all, even with his creepy human-esque hands under his pelt. He's just a really cute Digimon with a big heart ;w; what more can you want? Plus, I imagine he'd make a great pillow <3
May move to scraps later

Gabumon and Gomamon were my two absolute favorites from Digimon Adventure!
Gabumon had the extremely loyal friend and very caring personality who I just thought was adoooorbs
And Gomamon was just extremely goofy and carefree(complete opposite of Joe XD)
Both of them just stole the show for me

He was my favorite too.
It's generally my opinion that Digimon ultimately failed against Pokemon for two reasons:
#1: It constantly reinvented itself nearly from scratch with every season, eliminating much of the incentive to follow the seasonal story arcs, much less get invested in the characters.
#2: Instead of marketing itself as the more mature, 13-and-up alternative to Pokemon, it targeted the same audience with a heavily-neutered English dub.
For those reasons, Season 1 is the only one I really paid enough attention to to have any fond memories about it, and Gabumon is the character that I feel most closely embodies what Digimon should have been. He's cute, but only cute enough -- not sickeningly cute like Biyomon or Patamon, and in terms of personality, he easily had the most dimension. He was soft-spoken, compassionate, insightful -- basically the most likable character in the series by a wide margin.
So, yeah, I feel that way about Gabumon too. *snugs one if he can find one*

When I first started watching many a year ago, he caught my attention immediately and did not fail to deliver. He had some of the best dimension of a character for that show, and he reminded me of how I act as a person.
Did this take as long as the Guilmon picture you made not too long ago?
