just an idea for a knife I have to make a handle for. the handle sections would be made out of the following components:
*white bone
* (the rectangular sections w/ X's in them) carved malacite (a green stone).
* the small sections would be inlayed with carnelian (a red colored stone).
it'd then be capped by brass bolsters and spacers, and screwed together during final construction.

I had a friend in air born division who had to have some of his bones removed and replaced with prosthetics after he had a very bad landing after a jump. Now I do not know if it is true but he told me he ended up paying someone to make the bones into a pair of scimitar hilts...I think he may be full of it but it is fun to dream....
