The quick-witted Enfield is relatively common in its native country of England, but at first glance it is often perceived to be a garden-variety fox. It is rarely seen in the wild, yet it often appears on select heraldic art, being that the Enfield is a common symbol of diligence and cunning. It is of little consequence that Enfield sightings stopped being reported after the ban of foxhunting in England. Due to its resemblance to the common fox, Enfields would sometimes be confused by both man and hound to be the target of the hunt. This mistake often would not be realized until after the Enfield led its aggressors through a gauntlet of thorn bushes and man-made traps; such trickery usually resulted in the deaths of multiple hounds and the occasional mounted hunter.
Under normal circumstances, the Enfield is perfectly content to treat someone with the same courtesy that it is given in return. If the Enfield feels wronged by a person in any way, there is almost no way to appease it or stop it from exacting what it sees as fitting vengeance. Luckily, while this beast has a quick temper, it rarely holds a grudge
I am both shocked and amazed that someone actually guessed what this critter was. XD I never thought I'd be paying out on my free color commission deal. Anyways; the digital version of the same picture is here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1148132/
I'm still trying to decide which version to do the remainder of my pieces in, digital or traditional. Any feedback would be GREATLY appreciated.
