At some point... without me noticing... Bug, of all people, began riding a Scientific growth spurt into the stratosphere, completely surpassing everyone in play. He was ahead of me by two full Eras by the time I took notice of this when he completed the Apollo Program. With the amount of progress he had already made, the laughable size of my army, and the ridiculous size of his empire (he had nearly 20 cities)... there was absolutely nothing I or anyone else could hope to do to stop him.

(Upon later inspection, Danny was actually pretty close to him, having completed two rocket parts without me even noticing it.)
