3D printed tusks for a commission I'll be uploading very soon!
Tusks were printed in ABS plastic and then gassed in a smoothing chamber.
Each tusk has a total of 8 (4 in the base unit, 4 in the tusk itself) 10mm x 3mm Neodymium magnets with a pull of 3.6lb each which makes them removable for transport and storage.
The cylindrical base unit sits inside the head - the curved tusk which sticks out of the head measures approx 12cm long
The cross on each unit ensures that they do not connect "lopsided" and will always snap to the correct position.
