Parasite Eve II is the only one I can find on the PSN market in EU, so it's the only game I had to go by. XP

PE1 is the best, imo. PE3....eh. lol

I've heard from a friend (the snow leopard in this picture :3c) that PE1 is like an RPG with survival horror mechanics, whereas PE2 is a survival horror with RPG mechanics. :P

PE1 had this entirely new and cool gameplay style for horror themed games, muchless for RPGs as well. Being and RPG company and trying to distance into horror genre, it was a nice attempt. the theme to the horror itself was kinda scifi-horror and cool too.
PE2, like Silent Hill did, Square intended to go for more horror-survival style than RPG, and tried to go back to feeling like Resident Evil with fixed camera angles, limited ammo, etc.

Well I love me some Resident Evil, as does my aforementioned friend, so she tipped me about this game and it turns out to be awesome. :D
