Inner-Selves, No. 35, Part A

Fidget gasped for air and then looked down at his chest, but to his surprise, there was no wound on him at all. He put a hand to the spot that the blade had supposedly penetrated him, but nothing was there, no cut, no blood, no nothing. "What the heck just happened? I could've sworn I'd just been stabbed" Fidget thought to himself. He turned around slowly hoping to find the fur that had stabbed him, but no one was there. All around him everything was quiet, but he could still detect the presence of the would-be assailant's spirit energy. He looked all around him, even looking up towards the top of the buildings, then suddenly, he spotted a silhouette at the top of one of the nearby buildings, it was far up above him and he could barely make out the image of it, but it appeared to be a huge fur of some sort. Fidget stared intently at the figure, and he felt like he could sense the bloodlust of the figure, it sent chills down his spine, freezing him to the very spot that he now stood on.
Suddenly a voice came from behind him, Fidget continued to stare up at the spot where he'd seen the silhouette until he heard the voice. "What's wrong, how long are you gonna keep staring up there?" the voice asked. Fidget gasped and turned around, what he saw almost sent him into shock. Standing in front of him was a huge baby elephant wearing a black onesie with a dark green army tank symbol on the front of his onesie, his rattle was much bigger than Fidget's had been and was chipped in several areas as if it'd been beaten heavily in several battles. The elephant had his rattle slung over his right shoulder and was held there by his right arm, his left arm was tied behind his back by a rope that had been wrapped several times around his waist. The elephant towered over Fidget and the others, he was at least 2 and a half to 3 times the size of an ordinary youth sprite, this was due to the fact that elephants are the largest land animals. Fidget stared at the elephant trying his best not to freak out, he'd never seen a fur this big in his entire life. "H-he's gigantic, who is this guy?!" Fidget thought to himself.
Dash was slowly starting to come around, he was seeing double, but he was slowly starting to regain his composure. The elephant paid no attention to him or Chewy, he was interested solely in Fidget. "Really, it's impolite to stare, the least you can do is say 'Hello, my name is..', even though I already know who you are, Fidget the bobcat" the elephant said as an evil smirk came over his face. "H-how do you know my name? Who are you?" Fidget asked. "Oh c'mon! I'm sure Nekuma told you about me" the elephant replied. Fidget thought long and hard back to the conversation he'd had with Nekuma shortly after the demon cat had regained consciousness. Instantly it clicked, Fidget's eyes lit up as he came to realization who this guy in front of him was.
"I'm Hugo the elephant, I'm here to challenge you to a fight to the death!" the elephant declared. "So this is him, Hugo the elephant, the infamous Overseer of Africa!" Fidget thought to himself. Then a fast-moving blur jumped from behind Hugo's back and landed on Fidget's shoulder, looking behind the bobcat at the cheetah and the beaver that were still down on the ground. "Wow, look at that puddle beneath the beaver, you must've scared him pretty bad to make him do that Hugo!" said the monkey that was now on Fidget's shoulder. She had a pink bow tied to her tail and a banana peel-shaped clip on her right ear, the pacifier around her neck was yellow and she had a palm tree for her diaper mark; she was also about half the size of Fidget. Fidget noticed her there and got agitated, much like the time Kat climbed all over him when they'd first met. "Hey get off me!" Fidget shouted as he swatted at her.
The monkey jumped backward and landed next to Hugo, looking over at Fidget innocently. "Uh oh...I think I made him mad" the monkey said curiously. "Well what'd you expect? That was just stupid..." Hugo said to his tiny subordinate. "And stupid is as stupid does right?" the monkey said while looking up at Hugo. "Hey, you said it, not me" Hugo replied. "Who is she? And how is she unaffected by his spirit energy, she's so small..." Fidget said to himself. He decided he'd better get some answers. "Hey you, twerp with the weird ear clip, who are you?!" Fidget called out to the monkey. "Hmm? Oh me? My name is Leti the monkey, I'm also known as the Sergeant of the African unit...hehe it's nice of you to ask!" the monkey said smiling at Fidget cheerfully. "A sergeant? the same rank as Frenzy?" Fidget said to himself.
Dash groaned as he slowly tried to get up, slightly adjusting to the intense spirit energy in the air. "Fidget what happened?...Huh, whoa, who the heck is this guy?!" Dash exclaimed, looking from Fidget to Hugo. "Bad news, that's what he is, let's grab Chewy and get out of here, we're too close to stop now" Fidget said. "You're not going anywhere, I didn't wait here for a long time just to let you slip away, I heard from my 3rd officer that you're strong, so I'm challenging you to a fight" the elephant responded. Dash gritted his teeth and made ready to reach into his backpack. "We've already experienced firsthand that we can't run away from this guy, so if it's a fight he wants, I say we give it to him!" the cheetah said. "No, remember what Daisy said, none of us are equipped to handle Overseers, we could easily lose this fight, so listen to me, I want you to take Chewy and go on ahead, rescue Kat from the tower and I'll meet up with you later" Fidget said.
"You just said so yourself that none of us can fight a guy like him, so let me help!" Dash shouted in protest. "If both of us are defeated then nobody can save her, Chewy can't even move right now he's so overwhelmed. Dash looked down at Chewy, Fidget was right, it made no sense for both of them to fight this battle. "Alright then, but if I get the girl out of there and you're still going at this, then I'm coming back to help" Dash said, compromising. "Fine by me, now go, hurry!" Fidget answered. Dash helped Chewy to his feet and ran on ahead, leaving Fidget behind. "Don't you dare die baby-face!" Dash said to himself as he ran on.
"Oh wow...now you're all alone" Leti remarked, sounding confused and concerned. "Sorry but I can't let you follow them" Fidget said to the two youth sprites. "You idiot, don't you know anything at all?" Hugo said. Fidget was confused. "I'm only here because I wanted to challenge ya to a fight to the death, I could care less about your mission to save Kat the pink kitten" the elephant elaborated. Fidget growled, this was no time for games he thought. Hugo then dropped his rattle to the ground and put his right arm behind his back along with his left. "Huh?!" Fidget said, really puzzled now. "C'mon, take your best shot, let's have some fun!" Hugo said smiling. "Grrr, you think I'm the kind of guy who'd attack someone who hasn't even drawn their weapon? Don't mock me!" Fidget shouted in anger. "I'm not mocking you at all...not wanting to attack an unarmed opponent is certainly admirable, but I'd save that type of chivalry for another occasion" Hugo said back.
Leti got out of the way and took a seat up against a wall, a big smile came over her face. "Hehe, this is so exciting, Hugo's gonna have so much fun!" Leti thought to herself. "I'm giving you a free shot, I wanna get an idea of just how strong you are, you can attack any part of my body, you can go for my throat, cut off an arm, gouge out an eye if you want, or if you're lucky you might kill me with a single blow; just quit hesitating and fight!" Hugo shouted, egging him on. Fidget shook back his conscience and drew his sword, then he ran towards Hugo, he jumped up and readied a slash. "Grrrrrrraaaaaahhhhh!!!!" Fidget shouted as he swung his sword down at Hugo's chest.
