Practice, practice, practice. I don't think many people can expect their first try at drawing anything to work well.

If ya want some specific advice, I don't think I'm any good at giving it. I can't put my finger on it, but I think that there is something weird about the shape of his head. I think you didn't make the right side (our left) of his face big enough. His mouth seems kinda jutted into the left side (our right) of his face.
