You get the cord to a point where it can easily loop around your neck without being too long to be uncomfortable. Then I used a sodering iron to melt the plastic casing at a spot an equal distance from the edge as from where the cord comes out and shoved the cord in there. This way, when the plastic harderned, the cord would not come out.

But I can't really recommend the necklace... it's kinda my thing.
